The full project cycle was incorporated from geomorphic assessment to construction management for the Swan River foreshore adjacent to Ascot Racecourse. A geomorphic assessment, including impact of historic works, was conducted to determine the cause of recent erosion at the site. Concept designs, detailed designs, construction drawings and technical specifications included rock revetments, a scour toe and renourishment. Construction management of the revetment and scour toe at the western foreshore was completed in early 2013.
The designs for the eastern foreshore incorporate a grouted rock revetment, scour toe, geocell, retaining walls, drainage and concrete footpath design. Construction management for the work at the eastern extent of the racecourse will follow after funding is secured.
